Arbor Day Celebration At United Universalist Congregation In Oakton
The United Universalist Congregation of Fairfax will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of Arbor Day on Saturday.
OAKTON, VA — The United Universalist Congregation of Fairfax will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of Arbor Day on Saturday, with guided tree tours, environmental information, music and a plant-based lunch.
The event begins at 10 a.m. at the Oakton church's campus, with a presentation by Charles Smith called the “Healing Power of Nature.” Smith, a naturalist and ecologist, is branch chief of the Fairfax County Stormwater Planning Division.
Children’s programming will begin at 10:30 a.m. Attendees will participate in the planting of trees, shrubs and flowers. Several groups will have exhibit tables at the event.

A plant-based lunch will be provided at 12 p.m. At 1 p.m. a second tree tour will be held, while tree planting continues.
