Supervisor Hudgins, Superintendent Dale spar over FCPS disciplinary process

Two Oakton residents were this week. The federal indictment says William Danielczyk and Eugene Biagi collected, and reimbursed, more than $186,000 for one candidate's senatorial and presidential campaigns.

A statement from Supervisor Cathy Hudgins about Fairfax County Public Schools' disciplinary process' link to two student suicides with Superintendent Jack Dale, who said the link is "furthering a falsehood is unconscionable and a blow to those who have already suffered great pain and loss."

The boys basketball had a tumultuous week. They started out of the MAC title with a 71-63 win over Maret, only to lose two days later to St. James. They then bounced back Friday for a win over Potomac School on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Oakton boys and girls basketball teams played in the Concorde District tournament. The girls won the district title, defeating in the semifinals and in the finals. The boys made it as far as the semifinals, where they fell to . Both will play in the region tournament this week.

Concorde District coaches met to vote on last week, naming junior Caroline Coyer of the Oakton girls basketball team Player of the Year. She and senior Zora Stephenson made first-team All-District, while junior Katherine Coyer and senior Danielle Davis made second team and sophomore Elizabeth Manner made third. Katherine Coyer was also named Co-Defensive Player of the Year. The girls coach Fred Priester was named Coach of the Year. For the boys, senior Adi Hajrovic made first team and junior Steele Shemeld made second.

The Oakton swim and dive team competed in states this weekend. Janet Hu, who Oakton Patch featured in , led the girls swim team, along with Kaitlin Pawlowicz to . The boys placed seventh.
