Flint Hill Girls Lose to Paul VI in State Championship For Second Straight Year

Flint Hill School and Paul VI Catholic High School had faced each other in the state championship before. Just last year the Flint Hill girls basketball team lost to Paul VI in the high-scoring 80-74 final.

This year, Paul VI bested Flint Hill again 48-41, giving the Panthers their 12th state title and fifth in a row.

The Huskies did not go down without a fight. Down 28-21 heading into halftime, the team regrouped for the second half to tie the game at 33 points in the third quarter. Both teams then scored six points in the fourth, and the game stretched into overtime.
