It wouldn't be unreasonable to say that the sixth man, the Warhawks student cheering section, has earned more attention across the Liberty District than the team itself. They show up in droves to home and away games alike, a red and black mob with dyed hair and painted faces. Stomping, hooping and hollering in near-perfectly coordinated cheers and beats, they elicit at least a few dropped jaws from opposing teams and fans every game.

Coaches from the Liberty District met over the weekend to honor some of the best players in the district, naming Player of the Year, All-District teams, All-Defensive teams and Coach of the Year. Seven Madison players were named.

Madison basketball:

The girls basketball team to the second round of the Liberty District playoffs and then advanced to the championship after a , but in the final game, relinquishing the Liberty District title.

The boys basketball team had a shorter road through the playoffs, to end their season.
