11 Families Displaced By Alexandria Apartment Fire, Red Cross Assists
Firefighters made multiple rescues from the two-alarm fire at a garden-style apartment building on Monday.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Nearly 30 people were displaced from a fire at a multifamily apartment building in Alexandria Monday.
The fire was reported in the 400 block of N Armistead Street in a three-story garden-style apartment building, according to the IAFF Local 2141 firefighters union. Firefighters made multiple rescues from the two-alarm fire.
The Alexandria Fire Department said minor injuries were reported. An investigation into the fire was underway.

Red Cross said it was assisting close to 30 displaced people within 11 families and provided water and meals for residents on site. The organization was working with Alexandria partners to help meet residents' basic needs and will provide additional recovery resources in the coming says.
