Class of 2025: 984 Seniors Graduate From Alexandria City High School
Congrats to the Class of 2025, which included nearly 1,000 students at Alexandria City High School.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The next chapter begins for 984 graduates of Alexandria City High School after Wednesday's commencement ceremony.
Alexandria City Public Schools staff, leaders, School Board members, families, City Council members, dignitaries and others from the community joined graduates at George Mason University's EagleBank Arena Tuesday morning. ACPS reported a record 37 percent (444 students) earned the Advanced Studies Diploma.
"The class of 2025 has undoubtedly left an unforgettable impression on ACHS," said Executive Principal Alexander Duncan III. "They have been innovative, creative and inspiring. Their ability to advocate for themselves and speak truth to power is a trait that will serve them well as they move forward into what's next."

Duncan served as a commencement speaker, as well as Superintendent Melanie Kay-Wyatt, Class of 2025 President Scott Price and Vice President Djibril Wone of the school, Student Government Association President James Libresco and senior student speakers Sana Kawoon and Katie Bwenal Barrera. The Titan Choir seniors sang the national anthem. Attending officials included Alexandria City School Board Chair Michelle Rief and other School Board members, Alexandria Mayor Alyia Gaskins, City Council members and Dels. Alfonzo Lopez and Charniele Herring.

As of May 20, 518 graduating seniors indicated they would attend college to pursue a bachelor's degree, and 102 will pursue an associate's degree. They will attend a total of 134 colleges and universities. There are 20 Titan athletes who signed letters of intent to play collegiate level sports.
The Scholarship Fund of Alexandria provided $700,400 in first-year scholarships to 215 students. When renewed for four years of study, the awards will total $2,611,850 in value.
Students attending college reported at least $2 million in merit scholarships from their schools, as well as organizations like Alexandria Sportsman Club, Educational Opportunities for Alexandrians, Alfred Street Baptist Church Foundation, HBCU Week Foundation, Inc., Questbridge College Match, POSSE Foundation, Gates Foundation, Akerson Family Foundation, Beat the Odds Program, Army ROTC, Air Force ROTC, Navy ROTC, United Negro College Fund, Dell Scholars Program, Amazon Future Engineers, Harry F. Byrd Scholarship Foundation, Cooley-Moore Scholarship and Thurgood Marshall College Fund.
Along with students heading to college, 30 indicated they will serve in the U.S. military and 23 will take gap years through internships, Americorps, Year Up and other organizations. Another 55 will attend trade schools to prepare for careers like HVAC, dentistry, electrical, cosmetology, automotive mechanics and more.
According to ACPS, the graduating class was made up of 36 percent Hispanic students, 28.8 percent white students, 24.69 percent Black/African American students, 7 percent Asian students, 3 percent multiracial students and 1 percent American Indian/Alaska Native students.
