Candlelight Vigil Planned In Alexandria To Remember 67 Lives Lost In Plane Crash
A candlelight vigil honoring the 67 victims of the plane collision with a military helicopter will be held at an Alexandria park.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Just down the river from the deadly plane crash with a military helicopter, residents will join a candlelight vigil to remember the 67 lives lost.
Rep. Don Beyer, whose district includes Reagan National Airport where the plane was preparing to land at, will host the candlelight vigil at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Rivergate City Park, 2 Montgomery Street, Alexandria, VA. Candles will be provided, but attendees may bring their own.
"As our community remains deeply saddened by this tragedy, this candlelight vigil will allow us to come together in remembrance of the lives we lost and offer our collective support to the families, friends, and loved ones directly impacted," Beyer said in a message to constituents.

Beyer said families affected by the deadly crash needing assistance can contact his office at 703-658-5403. Mental health support is available 24/7 by calling or texting 988. Beyer's office has a list of additional resources.
There were 60 passengers and four crew members aboard the American Eagle Flight 5342, and three military members were on the Army Black Hawk helicopter. As of Monday afternoon, authorities have identified 55 of the victims as recovery of the wreckage in the Potomac River continues.

American Airlines has not yet released a list of the people on board, but some victims have been identified in the media by family. The crew members on the helicopter have been identified.
