A mail-in ballot is another option. Applications to request a mail-in ballot are due by 5 p.m. on Oct. 27. Completed ballots must be returned to the Office of Voter Registration & Elections by 7 p.m. on Nov. 7 or postmarked by Nov. 7 and received by the Office of Elections by noon on Nov. 13.
To request a mail-in ballot, visit vote.elections.virginia.gov, download an application online or call the Office of Voter Registration & Elections at 703-746-4050.
Mail-in ballots can be returned by mail, in person or drop box. A secure ballot drop box is available 24/7 until 7 p.m. Nov. 7 in front of the Office of Voter Registration & Elections. Ballot drop boxes will also be provided during early voting hours at Beatley Library and at all polling places from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 7.
As part of a new Virginia law, mail-in ballots must include the last four digits of the voter's Social Security number and birth year instead of the previous witness signature requirement.
