"The Bad Girls Club: Promises of a Spirituality-Based Recovery" follows Marginot’s personal experience with addiction. The author tells how spirituality helped her overcome addiction and find success working in tech and coaching.
"My recovery story is one of hope and resilience. I'm not ashamed to share it, and I hope it inspires others to seek help and support," said Marginot. "The Bad Girls Club reflects so much of the strength I’ve gained along the way. If you’ve ever faced challenges and found your way back stronger, this book is for you."

The book's relevance extends beyond Dry January, which encourages people to avoid drinking alcohol for a month. According to Marginot, women are increasingly drinking in the professional setting at work-related events.
"We’ve been told that a glass of wine has health benefits, but are now learning that alcohol can increase our risks for certain types of cancers," said Marginot. "And beyond the health risks, high alcohol consumption affects our personal and professional relationships and can impact our ability to successfully function and lead in their professional roles."
Today, navigating drinking in the workplace is one of the topics Marginot covers at her coaching business. She hosts a workshop called "From Cocktails to Mocktails: Navigating Work Events as a Sober or Sober-Curious Professional."
Marginot's book will be available to preorder from Amazon and local bookseller The Company of Books starting on Jan. 28. For more information, visit www.karenmarginot.com.
