ALEXANDRIA, VA — The embattled CEO of the Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority has been fired about a year after starting the position, according to a new report.

ALX Now first reported the Board of Commissioners' firing of CEO Erik Johnson. That comes after an investigation into Johnson occupying public housing without the board's consent. The authority has already been facing criticism from residents concerning living conditions in its public and affordable housing.
