Alexandria Nominated For 2023 Condé Nast Traveler Awards

ALEXANDRIA, VA — For the sixth year, Alexandria could be ranked among the best small cities by Condé Nast Traveler. Alexandria is nominated in the cities category for the 2023 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards.

Visit Alexandria, the membership-based tourism organization for the city, is hoping Alexandria can move up in the small cities ranking. The city has ranked in the top five since the small cities category was created in 2018.

In addition to Alexandria's nomination in the cities category, several Alexandria hotels are nominated in the hotels category — The Alexandrian, Hilton Alexandria Old Town, Hilton Alexandria Mark Center, Morrison House and Lorien Hotel & Spa.

Residents can participate in the Readers’ Choice Awards survey by June 30 at cntraveler.com/vote. Alexandria's ranking is helped when survey participants rate it as "excellent" across several categories and answer several other questions.

Visit Alexandria has been seeking high profile rankings by publications like Travel + Leisure and Condé Nast Traveler to promote Alexandria as a national destination. The rankings are sought to help bring visitors to the city and support city tax revenues, small businesses and the hospitality industry. At Visit Alexandria's annual meeting in October 2022, it was reported that Alexandria had record consumption tax receipts as recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

Alexandria's latest high-profile ranking was on Money magazine's Best Places to Travel in 2023 list.
