Alexandria Police Lose Parking Enforcement Officer To COVID-19
Edward Bonds of the parking enforcement office is remembered as a husband, coworker, friend and coach.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Edward Bonds, a parking enforcement officer with the Alexandria Police Department, died from COVID-19 complications on Thursday, Jan. 28. He spent 21 years with the police department and city.
Bonds is remembered as a "devoted employee and a valued friend and coworker," and loving husband to his wife, Lethia, according to a police department statement. He also served as a coach for the T.C. Williams High School football team and was a "diehard" Dallas Cowboys fan despite living in the DC area. Coworkers remember Bonds for his appreciation of old school R&B music, his love for singing and luck at playing the lottery.
"APD extends our heartfelt condolences to Bonds’ family, friends, and his coworkers with the Parking Enforcement Office," reads the police department's statement.
