Alexandria Resident Dies After Being Hit in October by Drunk Driver: Police

Police say pedestrian who was hit by drunk driver went to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries but his condition worsened.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Alexandria resident Peter Palm, 62, died Saturday from injuries after being struck in October by a drunk driver in Alexandria, the police department announced Wednesday.

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating the pedestrian crash that occurred Oct. 8 in the 200 block of N. Henry Street (see map below) in the City. Early that morning, at 2:06 a.m., police responded to the area for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. The driver, Kyeshia Arrington, 24, of Alexandria, remained at the scene and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, according to police.

Palm was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries initially, police said. His condition worsened and he died Saturday.
