UPDATE: New Details Released in Armed Bank Robbery in Alexandria: Police

Police say a bank was robbed at gunpoint Thursday morning in Alexandria.

ALEXANDRIA, VA (UPDATE 4:10 p.m.) -- The Alexandria Police Department is investigating the robbery Thursday of a Wells Fargo Bank located at 330 N. Washington St., police announced Thursday afternoon in an update.

On Thursday, Nov. 17, at 10:50 a.m., a man entered the bank and displayed a handgun, according to police. He demanded money, the teller complied and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. There were no injuries.

Police say the suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’9” tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a black baseball cap, sunglasses and a black coat.
