UPDATE: Bonchon Chicken Coming to .... Richmond Highway

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- (UPDATE 5 p.m.) Sorry, fans of Bonchon Chicken, but it looks like you'll have to travel farther than Old Town Alexandria for the new Bonchon opening soon in Alexandria. Another eagle-eyed Patch reader informs us that the new restaurant will actually be located on Richmond Highway, at 6870 Richmond Highway to be precise in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County. For some reason, the company map locator was telling us it would be located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. Our apologies for the error. Here's more about the popular restaurant for those who don't mind crossing outside City borders for some of that popular Korean fried chicken:

The menu for the Korean Fried Chicken restaurant, sometimes dubbed "the new KFC," features its signature Korean fried chicken wings, drums or combo in your pick of soy garlic/spicy or half and half. There are other entree items and sides also on the menu including bulgogi sliders, rice cakes, takoyaki and bimimbap.

The company already has several locations in Northern Virginia including Annandale, Arlington, Chantilly, Fairfax, Herndon and Woodbridge. The company got its starts in 2002 in South Korea and opened its first U.S. location in New Jersey in 2006. Most of its eateries feature both sit-down and take-out.
