Bunker Labs Starts PneumoDose

PneumoDose, a robust aerosol delivery platform that helps its customers get inhalable drug products to market by making it easier & faster.

From Bunker Labs: Pneumodose, led by U.S. Army Major Mark Bailey, won Bunker Labs DC’s StartUp StandUp on June 12, 2017. PneumoDose, a robust aerosol delivery platform that helps its customers get inhalable drug products to market by making it easier, faster, and less expensive to overcome regulatory hurdles, took the $3,500 cash prize sponsored by SunTrust.

Bunker Labs, a 501(c)3 organization committed to catalyzing the entrepreneurial potential of the military experience to lead innovation in the American economy, created Startup Standup. The unique event, which blended entrepreneurship and comedy, is the culmination of Bunker Labs DC’s Entrepreneurial Program for Innovation and Collaboration (EPIC). EPIC, a nine-week intensive program designed to help military veterans and their spouses grow and scale their businesses, empowers veterans with the knowledge and confidence to take on the Washington D.C. entrepreneurial ecosystem while also providing them with a network of fellow entrepreneurs and resources.

The event featured six military veteran-owned companies that pitched for the $3,500 prize generously donated by SunTrust to a panel of VIP judges including Matthew Adkins (Eagle Hill Consulting), Shawn Olds (Campaign Partners), Sergio Rodriguera Jr. (Credit Junction), and Stephanie Landrum (Alexandria Economic Development Partnership). Startup Standup wove the pitches by companies including Rakkasan Tea Company, Rios Partners, Enabld, Counter Threat Solutions, VetRides and PneumoDose with comedic stand-up acts from the Armed Services Arts Partnership. Before and after the show, guests had the opportunity to meet and hear from fellow Bunker Labs DC veteran entrepreneurs who are creating big waves in multiple industries including cybersecurity and fintech. StartUp StandUp may be the culmination of the EPIC Spring 2017 cohort, but support for these Bunker Labs companies does not end here. In line with the vision that every person who served in the military has the community, the requisite network, and the resources to realize their full entrepreneurial potential, Bunker Labs DC will continue to empower these veterans as leaders in innovations through mentorship and a growing network of like- minded veterans.
