DASH Scraps Paper Transfers, Passes

Alexandria's DASH bus service has several changes in store for 2013.

• Effective Jan. 1, DASH will discontinue the use of paper transfers. Transfers will be available only electronically when riders pay with a SmarTrip Card.

• Effective July 1, DASH will discontinue the use of the paper DASH Pass. The DASH Pass will be available only electronically. The electronic DASH Pass is still $35 and is available for purchase at the Alexandria Transit Store, online at www.wmata.com/fares/smartrip/ and at many retail locations that can be found on www.dashbus.com/fares. Riders can load the DASH pass directly onto their SmarTrip card.
