Deadline Wednesday to Enter First Night Alexandria Music Competition

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Are you an amateur musician or band under the age of 20? You have until Wednesday to enter First Night Alexandria's Battle of the Local Stars.

From now until Wednesday, competition is open to all area solo musicians, singers and bands.

Tips for entering:

1. Your video can be a song of your choosing (either a cover or original song).
2. At First Night Alexandria on New Year's Eve, Dec. 31, each finalist will play the song they submitted online and possibly one or two other songs, depending on the number of finalists. Details will be provided when finalists are announced.

Judging will be in early December, with finalists announced before Dec. 25. Finalists will perform on Dec. 31, 2016. The winner of that competition will be given a contract for a paid performance on Dec. 31, 2017.

The "Battle of the Local Stars" preliminary judging will be conducted online, with all the specifics regarding rules and deadlines posted here.
