Election 2016: Tim Kaine to Campaign Monday in Northern Virginia on Eve of Presidential Election

VA Sen. Tim Kaine, the running mate of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, will be in his home state stumping for the ticket.

Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine, the running mate of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, will be stumping in his home state Monday on the eve of Tuesday's election, the Clinton campaign announced Thursday afternoon.

At his final rallies before Election Day, Kaine will return home Monday, Nov. 7, to campaign in Northern Virginia and Richmond, joined by his wife Anne Holton, the campaign announced. Kaine will urge Virginians, the campaign says, to "make history on Tuesday by electing Hillary Clinton president and embracing an America that is stronger together, with an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top."

Polls will be open Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. across the Commonwealth.

Kaine on Monday will also lay out how the "division and dangerous views espoused by Donald Trump in his campaign make him unqualified, unfit and unworthy to lead this great nation," the campaign said.

Clinton is expected to hold her final rally before the election Monday night in Philadelphia with former President Bill Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama.

With more people voting in this election than any in history, Virginians can visit iwillvote.com to make a plan to vote on Election Day and find voting information they may need.

Additional details about Kaine's campaign appearance Monday in Northern Virginia will be released soon, the campaign said. Members of the public interested in attending these events can RSVP here for Northern Virginia and RSVP here for Richmond.
