Garrett to Lead At Home in Alexandria

The Alexandria resident will be responsible for volunteer coordination, member programs and marketing and fundraising activities for the nonprofit serving Alexandrians 55 and over.

Cecile Garrett has been named the new executive director of At Home in Alexandria, a nonprofit aiding residents 55 and older

Garrett, who will begin work March 4, will be responsible for leading AHA’s member programs, volunteer coordination and marketing and fundraising activities.

“She brings new energy, great ideas and a wealth of experience that will strengthen AHA and enable the organization to grow as we serve the needs of Alexandria,” AHA board Chairman Carol Downs said in a statement.

In turn, Garrett noted that “many AHA members have contributed to our community for many years and in countless ways. We would be remiss not to help them maintain an independent and enriching life for as long as possible.”
