Get Involved with Alexandria's Bicycling Committee

The city's Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee has a number of upcoming opportunities for citizen engagement.

Alexandria’s Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee in seeking public participation in a few upcoming events

  • BPAC is looking for volunteers to count cyclists and pedestrians on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 2 p.m.
  • On Jan. 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the group will host an information community bicycle ride along the city’s East End. The ride shows off the connections in the bicycle network in Del Ray, Arlandria, Potomac Yard and Old Town. BPAC will highlight little-known trails, shortcuts and visit the "trail to nowhere." Meet by 10 a.m. in front of St. Elmo’s Coffee Pub. Bring your bike, water and a sense of adventure.
  • The group is hosting its next meeting Jan. 22 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Durant Center, 1605 Cameron St. Topics to be discussed include bike lanes, a bicycle friendly community and BPAC outreach efforts.
