Harry Potter-Themed Events Returning To Alexandria's Apothecary Museum

Witches and wizards alike can attend two upcoming Harry Potter-inspired events, but get tickets before they sell out.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Fans of the Harry Potter series will flock to Alexandria for two magical events over the summer at the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum.

The museum will host the Science behind Harry Potter event on July 27 and Specialty Tour: A Magical Apothecary on Aug. 10. The museum is located at 105–107 S. Fairfax Street, Alexandria.

The first event is held in honor of the series' main character Harry Potter's birthday in late July. The Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum will offer a guided tour for families to explore the Apothecary and 19th century historic medicines that inspired Herbology and Potions of the wizarding world. At the end of the tour, participants will make their own potion to try at home.

The tour has a timed entry, and each tour is limited to 10 people. Children must be accompanied by an adult and have their own ticket. The tour involves climbing and descending stairs.

The tour sells out, so the museum encourages purchasing tickets in advance. As of Thursday, few timed entry slots are left.
