New Breakfast And Lunch Eatery Opens First VA Location In Alexandria
A new restaurant with breakfast, brunch and lunch menus has opened its doors on King Street in Alexandria.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — HomeGrown, a restaurant specializing in breakfast, brunch and lunch offerings, opens Monday in Alexandria. This is the first HomeGrown location in Virginia.
The location at 1600 King Street is the new replacement for the closed Brabo Brasserie. It is located in the Archer Hotel Old Town Alexandria, formerly the Lorien Hotel and Spa.
HomeGrown's Alexandria menu includes a variety of breakfast specialties such as Benedicts, omelettes, French toast and pancakes as well as lunch offerings like sandwiches, soups and salads. Customers can find non-alcoholic espresso, coffee, tea and juice drinks as well as brunch-inspired alcoholic drinks. Seasonal foods and drinks are also available.

The restaurant uses ingredients from local and regional producers like Alexandria's own Swing's Coffee Roasters, Crum's Hot Sauce, Lehigh Valley Dairy, Backbone Mountain Maple Syrup, Belmont Farms Distillery–Kopper Kettle and more.

HomeGrown has other locations in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska and Arkansas. Along with providing locally-sourced food, the restaurant says it wants to help people "start the day right" and encourage acts of kindness.
"HomeGrown is more than a daytime eatery. It’s a deeply rooted philosophy to break bread together around a passion for building community with generosity, servant leadership and a shared love for culinary creativity," the restaurant says on its website.
