I Do, I Do: First Annual Alexandria Wedding Showcase Coming to City

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Expecting a proposal over the holidays? You won't want to miss the first annual Alexandria Wedding Showcase featuring 45 area wedding vendors and benefitting Brides Across America. The showcase will be held at the Westin Alexandria Hotel Sunday, Feb. 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Showcase attendees will be entered to win multiple engagement and wedding-related prizes, including the unique opportunity to display the iconic Virginia Is For Lovers “LOVE” letter at their own wedding reception (see photo below; photo by Sara Marcella):

Tickets are on sale and can be purchased online for $15 each or $20 per couple.

At the Alexandria Wedding Showcase, couples, their families, and wedding planners can visit with almost four dozen world-class Alexandria wedding vendors including:

• Bakeries, boutiques and caterers
• Dress and tuxedo boutiques
• Entertainment/music providers
• Florists
• Photographers
• Salons and spas
• Transportation and other service providers, and
• Hotels and other unique venues.

The Showcase is a benefit for Brides Across America, a national nonprofit that has assisted thousands of military couples since its inception in 2008, and now provides wedding gowns and entire weddings to both military and first responder couples nationwide. Between 10 and 15 brides chosen by Brides Across America will be able to select free gowns at the Showcase, donated by BridesAcross America and Global Bridal Gallery, an Alexandria wedding dress boutique. In addition, $2 from each ticket sold to the Alexandria Wedding Showcase will be donated to Brides Across America.
