Here's a look at the largest political donations made this year in Alexandria.

The Virginia Public Access Project lists the top political donations per locality this year. Here's a look at donations made from Alexandria this year:

  • The Virginia Association for Commercial Real Estate: $31,424 The group gave to both Democrats and Republicans
  • Samuel H. Chamberlain: $24,181 Chamberlain gave almost exclusively to Lets Grow Virginia, a PAC for Republicans; Chamberlain is listed as COO of Five Guys
  • Ed Gillespie Strategies: $24,000 Gillespie, a resident of Fairfax County, is running for governor; his company, based in Alexandria, also gave to the Let's Grow Virginia PAC
  • Bruce A. Gates: $20,185; a senior Vice President for Altria, he also gave most of his donations to Lets Grow Virginia
  • Disruptor Capital: $12,525 donations to Republicans
  • Kevin S. Bennett: $10,000 donated to House Majority PAC, a super PAC focused on holding Republicans accountable and helping Democrats win seats in the House.
  • Alex Castellanos: $10,000, chairman and founding partner of Purple Strategies in Alexandria; donation went to Lets Grow Virginia
  • Stanley O. Roth: $10,000, former Boeing Vice President
  • Thomas Tauke: $10,000, executive Vice President, the Federal Society; gave to Lets Grow Virginia
  • Coal Brothers LLC: $8,800, gave to Republican Party, Alexandria
  • Frank M. Connor III: $8,800, gave to Democrats
