  1. A milkshake bar is coming to Old Town Alexandria this summer. The Crazy Mason Milkshake Bar will open a new location on King Street that was once the home to Hollywood Fashion Wigs. The sweet eatery will offer unique milkshakes, sundaes, and other sweet treats. The Old Town Alexandria location will be the mom-and-pop shop's 10th. (Alexandria Living)
  2. The city of Alexandria will hold special events in the area to correlate with the National Cherry Blossom Festival in nearby Washington, D.C. The festival, which is held Mar. 20 through Apr. 16, draws crowds to the area who can take advantage of seeing Old Town Alexandria's very own cherry blossoms as a less crowded alternative. Lost Boy Cider will be hosting a cherry blossom-themed party, the Cherry Blossom Jubilee will return to the Torpedo Factory Art Center, and Shop Made in VA will be holding special cherry blossom-themed workshops. More information about the offerings in and around Alexandria during cherry blossom season can be found here. (Old Town Alexandria Patch)
  3. The Alexandria Black History Museum, which had been closed for three years, will reopen on Thursday, Mar. 2. The museum is highlighting a new exhibit, Preserving Their Names: The Black Lives Remembered Collection, which can also be viewed online. The exhibit features a collection of artifacts and over 300 images from the community highlighting the state's response to George Floyd's murder. The museum will be open every week for select hours Thursday through Sunday. (WTOP)
