Minnie Howard Campus Pool Opens To Public In Alexandria
The Minnie Howard Campus pool is open, offering a lap swim pool and training pool with public access.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — As the new Alexandria City High School Minnie Howard Campus building opened to students in the new school year, the public can also access its new pool.
The City of Alexandria's Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities announced the grand opening of the indoor pool at 2795 West Braddock Road. The facility includes a 25-meter competition pool, diving boards and a training pool kept 10 degrees warmer for therapeutic swimming.
Guests will enter the location labeled as Alexandria City High School Athletic Center & Fields through door #8. Children aged 5 to 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Teens aged 13 to 17 must also be supervised by an adult unless their parent or guardian has submitted a teen registration form. Anyone 13 and older must show a photo ID (including school ID) to enter.

Lap swim hours for the pool will be 4 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 7 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. Saturday to Sunday. Friday hours will be offered for special events only. Training pool and open swim hours will be offered Saturdays and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at least through Nov. 10.
Admission to the pool can be purchased on site. The city is offering daily admission fees and season passes with a set or unlimited number of visits. Fee assistance may be requested for residents in need.
