UPDATE: Myron Mixon's Pitmaster BBQ Opens Monday in Alexandria
Restaurant with menu inspired by "the winningest man in barbecue" set to open in Old Town Alexandria.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Get ready to try a menu inspired by "the winningest man in barbecue" at Myron Mixon's Pitmaster Barbeque, opening today, Monday, Jan. 16 in Old Town Alexandria, according to the restaurant's Facebook page. The restaurant, located at 220 N. Lee St., is set to open Monday at 4 p.m. The restaurant was busy preparing for the opening, hiring employees last week for front of the house and back of the house positions.
Starting Monday, the restaurant will have modified hours until Jan. 30: 4 - 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 4-9 p.m. Sunday.
This isn't just any barbecue. Barbecue pitmaster Mixon is a TV barbecue judge and author. "We're bringing coveted Competition-Level Barbecue to you, from 4-time grand champion pitmaster Myron Mixon and 19-year Certified Barbecue Judge Joe Corey," the restaurant states.

The restaurant will be open for both lunch and dinner service and take-out service will also be available. The restaurant's hours after Jan. 30 will be:
- Weekdays: 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Fridays: 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Saturdays: 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Sundays: 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The restaurant will be opening in the former location of Overwood.
