The hotel sits in a historic spot. The remains of a 50-foot 18th century ship were discovered at the construction site.
The opening of Hotel Indigo in the spring comes as Alexandria's Hotel Monaco and Morrison House recently changed hands and the recent opening of the MGM National Harbor, across the river.
