Nonprofits Seek Helping Hands Through Volunteer Fair In Alexandria

Volunteer Alexandria's upcoming volunteer fair will have opportunities with 40 or more organizations.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — At local charities and other nonprofits, volunteers are at the heart of the work, from supporting people in need, children, animals and more. At the upcoming Volunteer Alexandria and Just Serve Community Volunteer Fair, residents can get involved with causes.

Over 40 nonprofits in Alexandria are expected to participate in the fair and share opportunities on how volunteers can help. The fair will take place Saturday, Sept. 7 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2810 King Street in Alexandria, VA. Parking is free.

The nonprofits serve a variety of needs, from children, families and refugees to animals. Residents of all ages are invited to attend. Along with volunteer booths, the event will have free snow cones, cotton candy, and popcorn.
