Parking Expert to Talk About Trends Monday Night in Alexandria

The City invites the public to hear parking and transportation expert, Todd Litman, speak on parking trends and management strategies.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The City announced Friday that the public is invited to hear parking and transportation expert, Todd Litman, speak on parking trends and management strategies. On Monday, Feb. 6, from 7-9 p.m. Litman will be discussing changes in commercial parking trends and ideas for how to manage parking more efficiently.

Litman is the director of the Victoria Policy Transport Institute, which is an independent research organization dedicated to developing innovative solutions to transport problems, and author of Parking Management Best Practices.

This event will serve as the kick-off to Phase II of the Commercial Parking Standards Project. Visit www.alexandriava.gov/ParkingStudies for information about the Parking Standards for New Development Study.

Litman will discuss parking Monday night at City Hall, Council Chambers, 301 King St. City Hall is accessible by DASH bus and the King Street Trolley from the King Street Metro Station. Parking is available in the Market Square Parking Garage which can be accessed from N. Fairfax Street. On-street, metered parking is also available around City Hall.
