Police Arrest 2 for Robbery of Wells Fargo Bank in Alexandria

Police have nabbed two suspects in the armed robbery of a bank that took place last Thursday morning in Alexandria, the City announced.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The Alexandria Police Department has made two arrests in the armed robbery that occurred last Thursday at the Wells Fargo Bank, 330 N. Washington St. in Alexandria, the City announced Tuesday.

The robbery took place Thursday at about 10:50 a.m., when a man entered the bank and displayed a handgun, police said. The suspect demanded money, the teller complied and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police. There were no injuries.

Deshaun Anthony Williams, 22, and Jalonte Melik Cole, 21, both of Washington D.C., have been charged with Robbery and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. Both suspects were apprehended with the assistance of the FBI.

One of the suspects walked in and robbed the bank while the other assisted by driving a getaway car, police said.
