Police Make Arrests in Alexandria Cell Phone Robberies

Three Alexandria teens face robbery charges; they stole cell phones from people after setting up meetings online, police said.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The Alexandria Police Department announced Friday that they've arrested three suspects in three recent cell phone robberies in the City. The following suspects have been arrested and charged with Robbery, police said:

A 16-year-old male City resident was charged with the following robbery:
• Dec. 8, 2016: 4:20 p.m. in the 900 block of Wythe Street (set up with LetGo app)

A 17-year-old male City resident was charged with the following robberies:
• Dec. 8, 2016: 4:20 p.m. in the 900 block of Wythe Street (set up with LetGo app)
• Dec. 27, 2016: 8:30 p.m. in the 900 block of N. Henry Street (victim knew suspect)

Keith West, 19, City resident, was charged with the following robbery:
• Jan. 1, 2017: 8:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of Madison Street (set up with Offer Up app)

Police didn't say if the three are responsible for other cell phone robberies that occurred in November.
