Police Officer Faces Reckless Driving Charge In Alexandria Pursuit: Police
An Alexandria police officer is facing a reckless driving charge tied to a pursuit of a stolen vehicle.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — An Alexandria police officer has been charged after crashing into a car during a pursuit of a stolen vehicle.
Around 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, Officer Damon Frazier was pursuing a stolen vehicle when a crash with a civilian vehicle happened at the Franklin and South Patrick Streets intersection. The officer and civilian driver were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
After review by the Alexandria Commonwealth's Attorney, Frazier was given a summons for a reckless driving charge, a Class 1 misdemeanor. Frazier has been with the Alexandria Police Department since Oct. 30, 2023 and remains on duty pending an administrative review.

According to the police department, officers complete an Emergency Vehicle Operations Course on safe and responsible driving practices during emergency situations and pursuits.
"The APD remains committed to transparency, public safety, and maintaining the trust of our community," the police department said in a statement.
