Eclairons Pastry And Coffee House Advances Plan To Open In Former Firehook Bakery Location
Eclairons Pastry and Coffee House has applied to open in the former Firehook Bakery location in Old Town.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Firehook Bakery's former location in Old Town Alexandria could get new life as a new café.
Eclairons Pastry and Coffee House has applied to seek outdoor dining at 430 S. Washington St., which was last occupied by Firehook Bakery. The special use permit application calls for 20 outdoor seats.
Proposed hours for the venue are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Eclairons, which has a location in Arlington's Rosslyn neighborhood, focuses on European and Middle Eastern pastries, food and coffee. Customers will find a menu of pastries like éclairs, macarons, cookies, bars, whole cakes, tarts, savory breakfast and lunch dishes, and coffee bar offerings.
Owner and Pastry Chef Toni Srour immigrated to the U.S. from Lebanon and opened his first business, Maurice Pastries, Inc., in 1993. His other businesses are Pastry Xpo Café, which opened in 2008, and Eclairons, which opened in 2020.

Firehook Bakery had closed its three locations, including Alexandria, on Christmas Eve 2024 to shift to selling its Mediterranean baked crackers nationally online. The bakery had been open since 2005 in Alexandria.
