CENTREVILLE, VA — Matsu Japanese Restaurant in Centreville has the best sushi in Virginia, according to a new ranking.
The list compiled by Chef Standards and published on MSN highlights the best place to grab sushi in each state. Writers selected restaurants that were “celebrated for their exceptional taste, innovative dishes and captivating ambiance.”
According to Chef Standards, Matsu's menu "delivers a refined take on sushi rooted in time-honored traditions and premium ingredients."

"Its elegant, low-key setting and attentive staff create a relaxed yet elevated dining experience that appeals to those with a taste for authenticity," Chef Standards wrote. "The menu showcases a curated lineup of nigiri, sashimi, and specialty rolls, all crafted with exceptional precision and a deep respect for Japanese culinary practices. Each dish is both visually striking and full of clean, balanced flavors."

"We had a truly wonderful dinner at Matsu last night! We were seated promptly, and the sushi was incredibly tasty and fresh," one person wrote. "I would absolutely recommend Matsu to anyone looking for a great Japanese meal."
"If I could leave 10 stars, I would. This is my favorite sushi spot in the DMV. They are always super friendly and attentive. The quality of the sushi is top tier," another raved.
"20/10 if it was possible. I never really understood what people meant by one place having better or worse sushi unless the sushi was just straight up bad. Not this place. I understand now," another said.
