Sarah Jessica Parker's First Boutique Will Open at MGM National Harbor

NATIONAL HARBOR, MD -- Sarah Jessica Parker will debut her first standalone boutique at MGM National Harbor with the resort's opening next Thursday, according to MGM National Harbor. SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker will feature the designer's collection of shoes, handbags, accessories and the SJP LBD little black dress line.

"Opening a standalone store has long been a dream we have been working towards and we feel truly privileged to be doing so with the expertise, guidance and support of our brilliant partners at MGM Resorts," said Parker in the announcement Tuesday.

She also shared the news with her followers on Instagram, saying:

Today I reveal every detail of our long held secret!
After many trips on @amtrak to DC, on-site construction visits, meetings on design and curating a very special collection we are opening our first standalone @sjpcollection store inside the brand new @mgmnationalharbor.
The big launch is on December 8th and I'm counting down the hours, minutes and seconds until we officially open the doors.
Because perhaps then I will actually believe it's real.

She posted this photo, checking out the construction:

"It's been very exciting to have been involved in all steps of the process, from on-site construction visits to the actual layout and design of our boutique," she said. "I'm honored to be included in this massive undertaking and I'm very much looking forward to celebrating in December. Because perhaps then I will believe it's real."

Accessories and handbags range from $30 to $695, shoes start at $240 and the SJP LBD collection will premiere at $395.

Vanity Fair expressed surprise at the location, saying in an article posted online Tuesday that they would have expected an SJP boutique to be located on a quaint side street in NYC. They went even further in their headline saying: "Sarah Jessica Parker’s Opening a New Store Where Carrie Bradshaw Would Never Go." Carrie Bradshaw was the character Parker played on the popular "Sex and the City" TV show.

Bill Boasberg, general manager of MGM National Harbor, said: "When curating our retail collection, we first and foremost wanted to align ourselves with a luxury brand that represents style, elegance and, most of all, fun. We know this boutique will appeal to a wide variety of women and we're looking forward to inviting them in to discover their new favorite shoe, handbag or little black dress."
