ALEXANDRIA, VA — Enforcement of school zone speed limits will soon be expanded at two Alexandria City High School Campuses.

The City of Alexandria said enforcement of the school zone speed limits will be extended during the school day in addition to morning arrival and afternoon dismissal times starting on Nov. 4. The changes will take effect at Alexandria City High School's King Street and Minnie Howard campuses. The King Street campus school zone is active on King Street between Scroggins Road and Quaker Lane, and the Minnie Howard campus school zone is on Braddock Road between Marlee Way and Marlboro Drive.

The 15 mph school zone speed limit is active when the beacons are flashing on the signage. According to the city, the new enforcement schedule is intended to address high school students traveling between the campuses during the school day.
