Submit a Letter to the Editor

Patch is a community platform—not just a news and information site. 

Patch accepts Letters to the Editor. Here are a few simple guidelines:

Letters to the editor should be no more than 600 words.

They must be original—no form letters from political campaigns, for example.

Please sign your letter to the editor with your real name and a valid phone number. We won't publish your phone number, but we may want to check in with you before we publish it. 

Letters to the editor should have a local connection or local relevancy.

Email your letters to the editor to oldtownalexandria@patch.com with "Letter to the Editor" in the subject line.
