Tips to Score Big at Alexandria Boutique Warehouse Sale Saturday

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- This Saturday marks the 12th Annual Alexandria Boutique Warehouse Sale. Every year the sale gets bigger and better. The sale will take place at the Westin Alexandria, located off Duke Street inside the Carlyle section of Old Town (see map below). If you are new to the sale or need a refresher, organizers have pulled some tips to keep you in top savings form:

• Come early: The beauty of this sale is there is no admission charge. However, that means it’s a first come, first served kind of deal. You’ll want to be in line at least an hour early in order to get first dibs on merchandise. Organizers control admission flow at the door, so all customers have the space to look at all the great merchandise.

• Bring a buddy: This is the perfect way to spend time with a special someone or your bestie. It helps to have a buddy with you if you plan to be in line early so you are not stranded. Plus, who else will talk you into that second pair of heels?

• Wear leggings and a tank top: There are no dressing rooms, so you will need to try on clothing items over your clothes. You’ll also be set to enjoy one of several classes presented by Mind the Mat during the line wait. If you are shopping for shoes, wear slip on shoes and bring different socks or stockings to match what you are shopping for.

• Plan your transportation: If you are taking the Metro, take the blue or yellow line to the King Street Metro stop. There will be a complimentary shuttle every 15 minutes beginning at 7 a.m. from King Street to the Westin. If you are driving, there is 24/7 parking available at the US Patent and Trade Office garages for a flat fee of $5. See the map below. There are also limited metered parking spots on the surrounding streets

• Pack lightly: There is a free coat check, but you’ll want to keep your valuables on you. Now is the time to get out your favorite cross-body purse so both hands will be free to browse.
