What's Open, Closed For Memorial Day In Ashburn, Loudoun County
Residents can expect service adjustments or closures and Memorial Day events for the holiday.
ASHBURN, VA — Memorial Day weekend serves as a kickoff to the summer season and a time to reflect on American military servicemembers who have died during their service.
Leesburg will have its annual Memorial Day Observance to honor military servicemembers who have lost their lives. The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, May 26 in front of the Loudoun County Courthouse, 18 E. Market Street, Leesburg, VA.
Other events include the Ringing in Hope: A Salute to Our Troops race at 8 a.m. on May 26 in Ashburn and the Memorial Day Marketplace from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on May 26 in Ashburn.

Community centers and senior centers: Community centers, senior centers and adult day centers are closed on May 26.
Courts: Loudoun County Circuit Court, General District Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court are closed May 26.
Department of Motor Vehicles: DMV offices are closed on May 26, and some services are available online at dmv.virginia.gov.
Libraries: All Loudoun County Public Library locations will be closed on May 26. Regular service resumes at 9:30 a.m. on May 27, at 9:30 a.m. Online resources are available.
Loudoun County Transit: Bus service does not run on Memorial Day.
Metro: Monday Metrorail hours are 7 a.m. to midnight. On the Orange Line, free shuttle buses replace trains between Eastern Market and Cheverly. The Deanwood, Minnesota Ave, Stadium-Armory, and Potomac Ave stations are closed. On the Silver and Blue Lines, free shuttle buses replace trains between Eastern Market and Addison Road. The Potomac Ave, Stadium-Armory, Benning Road, and Capitol Heights stations are closed. Riders should use Silver or Orange line trains to continue traveling east of Federal Center SW. Office of Elections: Closed on May 26.
Parks: Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services administrative office and the Franklin Park Arts Center will be closed on May 26. Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve and Visitor Center are closed on Mondays. The Claude Moore Park Visitor Center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 26. The Hal and Berni Hanson Regional Park Nature Center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 26. Park grounds, including trails, gardens, playgrounds, off-leash areas, skate parks, courts, and fields are open from dawn to dusk.
Pools: Lovettsville Community Center outdoor pool will be open from 12 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on May 26. Round Hill Aquatic Center will be closed on May 26. The Franklin Regional Park Pool will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on May 26. The Hal and Berni Hanson Regional Park splash pad will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Post offices: Closed on May 26.
Recreation centers: Claude Moore Recreation & Community Center and Dulles South Recreation and Community Center are open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with no Kid Kare or Child Care on May 26. Claude Moore Recreation and Community Center will temporarily close for annual maintenance on May 27 and reopen on June 9.
Trash and recycling: Check with private haulers for any changes. The Town of Leesburg will not have trash, recycling, or yard waste collection on May 26.
