• Walter Thomas Roane, 74, of Shacklefords (wydaily.com) — Petersburg is mourning longtime resident Walter “W.T.” Roane, a beloved musician, community volunteer, and family man who passed away on November 25 at age 74. A Virginia State graduate and Southside Virginia Training Center employee, he later ran a delivery business, worked at Walmart Distribution Center, coached youth sports, and served churches in Dinwiddie and King & Queen while remaining active in Petersburg life.
