• William Letcher's Story Lives On (theenterprise.net) — A Revolutionary War-era figure with roots near Petersburg, William Letcher later settled in Patrick County, where his murder by a Tory became a defining local story. • Walter Thomas Roane, 74, of Shacklefords (wydaily.com) — Petersburg is mourning longtime resident Walter “W.T.” Roane, a beloved musician, community volunteer, and family man who passed away on November 25 at age 74. A Virginia State graduate and Southside Virginia Training Center employee, he later ran a delivery business, worked at Walmart Distribution Center, coached youth sports, and served churches in Dinwiddie and King & Queen while remaining active in Petersburg life.
