1 Dead, 1 Hospitalized Following Early Morning Crash In Reston: FCPD
Alcohol and speed contributed to Saturday's early morning fatal crash near Fairfax County and Elden Street in Reston, investigators say.
RESTON, VA — Investigators believe that speed and alcohol were factors in the single-vehicle crash that left a 23-year-old Herndon woman dead and sent the vehicle's driver to the hospital early Saturday morning in Reston, according to Fairfax County Police.
Officers responded around 2:40 a.m. for the report of a single-vehicle crashnear Fairfax County Parkway and Elden Street. That’s where they found a 2019 BMW M850I that had left the road and flipped over, according to FCPD.
A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 23-year-old Tina Habibi of Herndon, was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced deceased, according to police. The driver, whom police described as an adult man, was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Based on a preliminary investigation of the crash, detectives believed speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, according to FCPD.
