33rd Tephra ICA Arts Festival​: Full Schedule Of Activities Released

RESTON, VA — Tephra Institute of Contemporary Art released on Tuesday the full schedule of activities planned for the 33rd Tephra ICA Arts Festival in Reston Town Center.

Taking place May 18-19, the festival will feature 200 artists exhibiting their original artwork along the streets of Reston Town Center.

Multidisciplinary artist Danielle Hatch will be presenting the headline performance at the festival.

This free, family-friendly event is hosted by Tephra ICA, the Reston Town Center Association and Boston Properties.

The following is the full schedule for the 33rd Tephra ICA Arts Festival:

Saturday | May 18, 2024

Artist Booths | 11 a.m.–7 p.m.

Family Art Park | 12–4 p.m. | Reston Town Square Park
Come by to relax and engage in free art projects and fun for the whole family.

Public Art Installation and Performance by Danielle Hatch 1 p.m. and 4 p.m | Mercury Fountain Plaza. Presented by Reston Community Center.

Guided Tours | 1:30 p.m., 3 p.m., and 5 p.m. | Start from the Tephra ICA Booth at Mercury Fountain Plaza. Pick from three thematic, guided tours led by regional arts professionals, highlighting Virginia Artists (1:30 p.m.), Landscape Artwork (3 p.m.), and Artists from Diverse Cultural Backgrounds (5 p.m.).

Artist Demos | 4–5 p.m.
10–15-minute drop-in demonstrations of artist process. Refer to the Festival Guide for a complete list of participating artists.

Old Skool | 8–10 p.m. | Reston Town Center Pavilion
Free public concert and extended Sip & Stroll hours. Presented by Reston Town Center Association.

Sunday | May 19, 2024

Award Breakfast and Festival Celebration | 9:30–10:45 a.m. | Kick off a day of shopping at the Festival with a hot buffet breakfast, mimosas and coffee, and a lively celebration of Festival artists. Become a member to attend. Sponsored by Capital Burger, the Hyatt Regency Reston, and Biofloria.

Artist Booths | 11 a.m.–5 p.m.

Guided Tour of Award Winners | 11:30 a.m.| Start from the Tephra ICA Booth at Mercury Fountain Plaza. Join Festival jurors for a tour of the 10 artist recipients of the 2024 Awards of Excellence.
