4th Of July 2019: What's Open, Closed In Reston
Some services will be closed Fourth of July through the rest of the week.
The nation is preparing to celebrate America's 243rd birthday this week, and with the holiday falling on a Thursday, that means many local businesses and government agencies will be shut down through the rest of the week. However, that isn't the case for everyone.
So what is going to be open and what's going to be closed this holiday week? We have a breakdown for Reston below:

Government offices: Closed on both the 4th and 5th
Courts: Closed on both the 4th and 5th

Libraries: Closed on both the 4th and 5th
Animal shelter: Closed on both the 4th and 5th
Schools: Closed on both the 4th and 5th
Fairfax Connector: Operating on a Saturday service schedule on July 4th, returning to normal on the 5th
Metro: From WMATA:
Metrorail will open at 7 a.m. and close at 11:30 p.m.
Note: Last train time vary by station. Visit wmata.com/stations for specific times.
Trains will operate on a Saturday schedule, every 12 minutes on each line until about 2 p.m. gradually ramping up to near rush-hour service levels thereafter.
Scheduled track work on the Blue and Yellow lines continues; free shuttle buses replace trains between Reagan National Airport and Van Dorn Street & Huntington stations. If connecting to the Express shuttles at Pentagon Transit Center, follow signage for boarding location changes.
Due to large crowds, bicycles and large coolers are not permitted after 2:00 p.m.
