Reston Art Gallery and Studios begins the new year with Art of Lake Anne, a collaborative exhibition by nine artists exploring the visual character of Lake Anne Plaza through multiple media. The exhibition held from January 8 to February 5, 2026, presents a wide range of interpretations created in fabric, acrylics, oils, mixed media, and collage.
Lake Anne Plaza is known for its Mid-Century Modern Brutalist architecture—gray concrete forms that emphasize light and shadow— but the artists of RAGS view the landscape through different eyes and across different media.
Fiber artist Cindy Grisdela presents quilted sailboat imagery, while painter Rosemarie Forsythe captures colorful paddleboats and canoes in vibrant hues. Lakeworks, found-object sculptures by Doug Fuller, interpret the landscape using pale blue tones and crushed silver. Additional works by Sandy Dovberg, Jennifer Duncan, Julia Malakoff, Wayne Schiffelbein, and Pat Macintyre further expand the range of views in this collaborative exhibition.
