Crime Solvers Tips Help Identify Reston Burglary Suspects: Police

Investigators credited tips submitted through Crime Solvers for helping them identify suspects in a Reston retail burglary, reports say.

RESTON,VA — Fairfax County police are crediting tips they received through Crime Solvers for helping detectives identify and arrest three suspects in connection to the Oct. 12 burglary at a Reston business, according to authorities.

Officers responded around 10:13 p.m., to an alarm at the Kile Mart located at 1611 Washington Plaza in Reston. Police determined that three people forced their way into the store and stole vape products, as well as other merchandise, according to the incident report. The suspects had fled the store prior to the arrival of the officers.

To aid in the identification of the suspects, detectives released a surveillance video from the burglary and directed members of the public to submit tips by contacting FCPD or Crime Solvers.

Acting on police responded to a call for service in the 1600 block of Wainwright Drive in Reston. While there, the officers confirmed that a 17-year-old was one of the burglary suspects, according to the incident report. Police took the juvenile into custody and transported him to the Juvenile Detention Center, where they obtained petitions for burglary, grand larceny, and destruction of property.

On Oct. 31, detectives and officers from the Franconia Neighborhood Patrol Units identified a second suspect in the case, 20-year-old William Dristy of Annandale, according to the report. He was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with two counts of burglary, grand larceny, felony destruction, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. After being held without bond, Dristy was later released.

Eventually, investigators identified and located a 15-year-old juvenile, who was described as the third suspect in the case. He was taken to the JDC and served petitions for burglary, grand larceny, and destruction of property, according to the incident report.

Dristy has a preliminary hearing scheduled for 2 p.m., on Jan. 5, 2026 in Fairfax County General District Court, according to court records.
