Reston Man Attacked Woman On Bike, Exposed Himself At Local Hotel: Police

RESTON, VA — A 27-year-old man has been charged with multiple crimes after authorities said he attacked a woman on a bicycle along the Washington and Old Dominion Trail and exposed himself to a woman at a local hotel. The day after his arraignment on those crimes, the man is accused of assaulting a woman at a store in the North Point Village Center.

The first incident took place on Oct. 30: A woman riding along the W&OC Trail was tackled off her bike by an unknown man, who then fled the scene, according to the incident report. The man was later identified by police as Koby Berry.

On Nov. 1, Berry is accused of entering a hotel room in the 12100 block of Sunset Hills Road in Reston. He said he was security looking for someone who had defecated on the sidewalk, according to police. While there, he exposed himself to women then left the area.

Then, on Nov. 9, police responded to the W&OD Trail near Hunter Mill Road to investigate the report of a man trying to strike a man walking on the trail, who then took a woman's phone, according to police. Officers located Berry on the trail nearby and took him into custody.

Berry was arraigned in Fairfax County General District Court on Nov. 10. He was charged with two counts of simple assault and and one count of felony larceny, according to police.

A preliminary hearing has been set for 2 p.m. on Feb. 3, 2026, according to court records. He was then released on his own recognizance.

Then on Nov. 11, officers responded at 9:22 a.m. to the 1400 block of North Point Village Center for the report of an assault.

"An unknown man touched the victim inappropriately while she was in a store," according to the incident report. "Officers reviewed surveillance footage and identified the suspect as Berry."

After obtaining a warrant for simple assault, officers arrested Berry on Saturday, according to police. Additionally, detectives linked Berry to the Nov. 1 indecent exposure incident and the Oct. 30 assault. He was taken to the ADC, where he remains without bond.

On Tuesday morning, Berry was arraigned in Fairfax County General District Court on additional charges of indecent exposure, assault and trespassing, according to court documents. He has a bond hearing scheduled for 8:31 a.m. on Friday and a preliminary hearing was set for 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 13, 2026.
