The following release was submitted in response to a statement by Reston Pride. That statement can be found here.

The Lake Anne of Reston Condominium Association (LARCA) wishes to clarify recent misinformation regarding the placement of food trucks during the Reston Pride event.

Contrary to some public claims, Reston Pride organizers did not submit a request for food truck placement.

to LARCA until May 27, 2025, just days prior to the event. Their proposal included a site map showing food trucks located on private property owned by a neighboring property owner. That property owner did not grant permission for the use of their parking area.

To be clear, Kalypso’s Sports Tavern was not involved in this matter in any way, and should not be associated with any controversy related to food truck placement, permitting or permissions. In accordance with standard governance protocols, only the five members of the Board are authorized to make official decisions. In the event of an emergency, Management is directed to consult directly with the Board President.* In this instance, there was no emergency, and as is customary, the Board President typically
abstains from making determinations regarding this type of matter.

Please see attached Map provided in April to the County when Pride applied for the event permit. There are no food trucks shown.

LARCA is a condominium association and does not issue event permits nor did we revoke permission. Our responsibility is to protect and manage the common property and shared interests of our owners and follow proper procedures to do so.

While we support freedom of expression and community engagement, we do not tolerate online hate, harassment, or threats directed at our owners or community members. Civil discourse and mutual respect are essential to maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for everyone at Lake Anne.
