RESTON, VA -- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. forever shaped the American landscape as the most prominent leader of the civil rights movement. The memory of King, who was killed by an assassin's bullet in 1968, is honored on Monday, Jan. 21 (he was born Jan. 15) with a federal holiday.
